How did my tutoring services come to life in the beginning?

Up4learning was set up by Gayle McCrorie, a fully qualified primary teacher with experience of working across the full primary curriculum. Gayle has worked in both the state and independent sectors. Gayle’s last formal teaching post was as a Support For Learning Specialist Teacher at Wellington School, Ayr.

Many years after qualifying as a teacher, with a wealth of experience in primary teaching and additional experience in Support For Learning, Gayle was asked to privately tutor a young child over the summer holidays. This ensured the child didn’t experience what is known as the ‘summer slide’. Within 6 months, every session at the first up4learning studio in Prestwick was taken.

And so the story of up4learning began...

At this point, Gayle realised parents wished to hire the services of tutors to supplement the education children were receiving in school. Word spread across South Ayrshire about the fantastic primary tutoring service up4learning was providing!

and a waiting list was started!

Parents started to book sessions a year in advance of their children starting school, to ensure they would have a place at up4learning alongside attending primary school. up4learning’s holiday classes quickly filled, providing primary tutoring throughout the year rather than just during school term time.

All group sessions are now online.
